Google Is Now Letting Users To Password Protect Their Search History

Google has introduced a new feature where users can protect their web searches and Google map histories which are saved on web & app activity pages.
Detailed view:
A user’s web & app activity holds a wealth of private data. This data remains helpful for users to look back when they are trying to find how they found something. But primarily google tracks this data to sever personalized ads and search results. This data can be viewed by accessed by anyone by picking up someone’s phone or laptop by typing activity.google.com into the address bar. To prevent the data from getting viewed by third parties Google has introduced a new verification option where users can set a password to inspect the Web & App Activity page. This prevents the data from getting viewed by people who shouldn’t be seeing it.
Follow these easy steps to password protect your Web & App Activity page:
Step 1: Log into your Google account
Step 2: Navigate to activity.google.com
Step 3: Click Manage My Activity verification
Step 4: Click Require Extra Verification
Step 5: Click Save
Step 6: Enter your password to confirm your identity
When you have successfully followed all the steps you will find the verify button in place of your history. Clicking the verify button will take you to a screen to enter your account password, which will then take you back to the activity page with your full history showing.

- Now all the searches you do on google.com or in the Google app can be protected by encrypting the connection between your device and Google, keeping your information safer.
- You can block the activity of other people who use the same device you have logged into from accessing your data by using a password.
